AVID
AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination.
AVID is designed to prepare students for success in high school, college, and future careers by building strong academic habits and confidence. In an AVID classroom, students learn essential skills like organization, note-taking, time management, and goal setting. They regularly engage in collaborative learning, participate in structured discussions such as philosophical chairs, and receive support through peer and teacher-led tutorials. AVID also exposes students to college and career opportunities through various research methods. Overall, the program empowers students to take ownership of their learning while developing the mindset and skills needed to succeed in rigorous academic environments.
